Questions from pilgrims

Good to know before you travel

Does Balagh work inside Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi?

Yes. Balagh listens through your phone's microphone, so it works wherever you can hear the khutbah, including from the loudspeakers in the courtyards. Nothing needs to be set up in the masjid.

Does everyone in my group need to buy Balagh?

No. One person starts a session and shows the room code. Everyone else scans it and reads the translation in their browser, without the app or an account. With Pro, each of them picks their own language, up to 4 per session.

What does it cost for one trip?

Downloading is free. The first month of Balagh Plus costs €2.99 and includes 180 minutes of live translation, enough for every Friday khutbah of a normal trip. You can switch off renewal in your App Store or Google Play account right away and keep Plus until the month ends. The store shows the price for your country.

Do I need internet?

Yes, mobile data or Wi-Fi. The translation is made on our servers while the khatib speaks, so Balagh needs a connection for the whole khutbah.

Which languages can I read the khutbah in?

35 languages, including English, Urdu, Indonesian, Bengali, Turkish, French, German, Persian and Swahili. The khutbah in Makkah and Madinah is in Arabic, which is what Balagh listens for by default.

Can I follow the Makkah khutbah from home?

Yes. When you watch the live broadcast, hold your phone near the TV, or turn on Balagh's subtitles over other apps if you watch it on the same phone.

This Friday, understand every word.
